Ориентация в городе. Повторение предлогов места

Цель: выработать у учащихся навыки и умения диалогической речи с использованием определенного набора лексических единиц.

Задачи:

Образовательные: повторить употребление лексических единиц, которые используются при объяснении дороги, повторение предлогов места; отрабатывать навыки и умения диалогической речи и восприятия и понимания иностранной речи на слух.

Развивающие: формирование критического мышления; умения анализировать, выделять главное, обобщать и делать выводы.

Воспитательные: вовлечь в активную практическую деятельность; создавать объективную основу для воспитания и уважительного отношения друг к другу; совершенствовать навыки общения, воспитывать желание учащихся использовать иностранный язык как средство общения и получения новой информации.

Тип урока: комбинированный.

1. Организационный этап.

Good morning students. How are you doing today? Have you got any news to share with us? What lesson do you expect to have today?

2. Введение в атмосферу иноязычного общения.

Look at the map of London and guess what sight I`m describing:

It is to the left from the London eye, in front of the National Portrait gallery, not far from the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham palace. (Trafalgar Square)

3. Постановка цели урока и мотивация учебной деятельности учащихся.

So, today we continue discovering London. Last time we revised some direction phrases. Today we`ll learn how to explain the way politely. And as you`ve noticed we also need prepositions of place to give directions. So, we`ll revise them at the lesson, too.

Vasya is still in London. He can read the map very well now, but he`s forgotten English prepositions of place and doesn`t understand what people tell him.

Дядя Вася до сих пор в Лондоне. Сейчас он уже хорошо читает карту, но он подзабыл английские предлоги места, и не понимает, что люди ему говорят. Let`s help him to revise prepositions of place. Давайте поможем ему вспомнить предлоги места.

Prepositions of place are special words which help us to describe where a subject is situated. Предлоги места – это специальные слова, которые помогают нам описать, где находится предмет.

Now, let`s explain Vasya the meaning and the usage of the prepositions of place. А сейчас давайте объясним дяде Васе значение и употребление предлогов места.

Look at the map of London. Find the Houses of Parliament, please. Ready? Нашли Здания Парламента? Here they are._ Look, the Houses of Parliament stand beside the river Thames. Can you translate this sentence? Можете перевести это предложение? ___ Здания Парламента стоят возле Темзы (сбоку от реки).

So, ‘beside’ is translated ‘возле, рядом с, сбоку от’.

The next situation:

Look at the map and say: “What is situated next to the Houses of Parliament?” Что находится рядом со Зданиями парламента? Westminster Abbey. So, ‘next to’ means: ‘рядом с, в одну линию’.

Look at this picture: There`s Westminster bridge over the Thames at the Houses of Parliament. Can you translate ‘over’ and ‘at’? ___ ‘Через’ и ‘возле’. Возле Зданий Парламента есть Вестминстерский мост через Темзу.

Look at St. James`s Park. There is a pond in it. Посмотрите на Сэнт Джеймс Парк. В парке есть пруд. So ‘in’ means ‘в, внутри’. But be attentive! We use this preposition when we speak about streets. Но будьте внимательны! Мы используем этот предлог, также и тогда, когда говорим про улицы. For example:

There are many cars in the streets. На улицах много машин. В русском языке – ‘на улицах’, а в английском языке – ‘in the streets’.

The next situation: There is a statue of Admiral Nelson on the top of the monument. На вершине памятника стоит статуя адмирала Нельсона. ‘On’ means: ‘на, наверху, на поверхности’.

Can you find the National Gallery in the map? It is behind Trafalgar square. Можете найти Национальную галерею? ___ Она позади Трафальгарской площади. ‘Behind’ – ‘позади’.

And the last situation for you:

There`s the Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham palace. Перед Букингемским дворцом находится памятник Королевы Виктории. Can you name the preposition of place in the sentence? Можете назвать имеющийся в предложении предлог мест? ___ ‘In front of. And it means ‘перед, впереди’.

Now, be attentive and use the correct preposition: ‘beside, next to, over, at, in, on, in front of’.

Sentence number one: There is a bridge ___ the Thames ___ St. Paul`s Cathedral. Choose the needed prepositions. Выберете необходимые предлоги.___ так как мост через Темзу, мы используем предлог ‘over’. Где находится мост по отношению к Собору Святого Павла? Перед ним. So we need ‘in front of’. There is a bridge over the Thames in front of St. Paul`s Cathedral.

Sentence number two. The Tower of London stands ___ the Thames. Choose the correct Variant. ___ What is the needed variant? ___ Лондонский Тауэр стоит рядом с Темзой, сбоку от нее. So, we need ‘beside’. The Tower of London stands beside the Thames.

And the last sentence for today. Look at the map and choose the correct preposition: There is a pond ___ Buckingham palace. ___ Where is the pond? Где находится пруд? Позади дворца. So, we use ‘behind’. There is a pond behind Buckingham palace.

6. Выполнение задач стандартного типа.

Now, we`ve revised the prepositions we need today and we can continue.

Open your books on page 35, ex. 4b, p.36 ex 3. You have to listen to a text and complete the sentences given in the exercise. We do this task to revise some words and the pronunciation of the names of London sights. So, be attentive.

Now, listen two tree more dialogues and tell me what phrases make them polite.

5. It`s not a problem. Have a nice time.
