The purpose of the lesson: To form students' general understanding of the United States of America
- Warming up (time: 2 min)
Greeting. Ask questions and listen to students’ answers.
- Hello everyone!
- How are you today?
- Do you like to travel?
- What transport do you prefer for travelling?
- What countries have you ever been to?
- Today we will travel to the USA (show the flag).
2. Basic part (time:
- Oral practice. Answer the questions. (time:2 min)
First, I want to check your knowledge you learnt in the 5th grade.
- Who can show the USA on the globe? (show the globe)
- What do you know about the USA? (listen to answers)
- The teacher shows presentation with general facts. (time: 10 min)
-Now we are going to look through some information about the USA. But before I want to give you the list of unknown words. (appendix)
Students look through the words.
4.3 After reading the presentation students are given distributing material. The students try to answer questions about the USA. (time: 15 min)
The teacher asks the students to divide into 3 groups and try to answer 15 questions (True or False) on the papers. (appendix)
5. Quiz “ General facts about America” (time: 7 min.)

- So, our lesson has come to the end. We have fixed some new information about GB and you have done all exercises very well.
