Transport plays a significant role in daily life of a person. Everyone agrees that transportation is a necessary, convenient and cool thing. The modern world will stop without transport. Millions of people travel every day either on business or simply for pleasure. Transport helps to cover long distances very quickly and greatly facilitates our life. Currently, people use various types of transport, including trains, cars, ships, planes. People use public transport on a certain route within the city. It includes buses, trams, route taxis, electric trains, underground. But the drawback is that most vehicles pollute air with the exhaust gases of the burning fuel.

I think that my research work is a relevant topic: firstly, nearly the whole world depends on transport; secondly, traffic system is constantly renovated.

Objective of the project:

For achievement of the given objective, we have determined the following tasks:

The object and the subject of the research work you can see on the screen. I used the following methods:

Before planning my trip to European countries, I addressed to my classmates and other people in social nets and asked them some questions about transport.

According to the survey, we have such results: the majority of respondents have a car or even several ones (over 90%), about 10 % of people do not own a car. Some people have such vehicles as bicycles, boats or motorboats, motorcycles or snowmobiles which are used seasonally. The most preferable transport for a long distance is a train or a commuter train (82%), airplane(4%) or a car(14%). Public transport is popular among different generations during their visit to big cities: underground, buses, trams, taxis and trolleybuses. Most people (over 90%) prefer public transport to private one when they are in the city as it is faster, environmentally friendlier and cheaper.

Planning a long distance travel is rather complicated task. In spite of some negative remarks about high prices, I consider planes the most suitable means of transportation for long distance travel. But to catch a dream flight you should monitor all sites and buy tickets beforehand, at least in 6 months.

The first task for a visitor is to buy a ticket on public transport to get to his place.

There is a single transport system in Prague, so the purchased ticket gives the tourist the right to move around the city on public transport for a certain time: by underground, by bus, by tram, by ferry and by funicular. If you don`t have a ticket, you will be fined. According to this system all passengers are divided into 5 categories…… To sum up, Czech transport ticket system is highly developed, rather simple in use and beneficial.

I would like to test all kinds of transport in Prague by myself. Buses run regularly and with jeweler precision in most parts of Prague but in the center. They are city buses, suburban, night and night commuter routs. Catching a taxi in the street is not accepted Underground is the most convenient way to get around the city. Trams are considered ecologically friendly vehicles and most tourists and local dwellers choose them as they care about environment. Moreover, they are very accurate and always arrive on time. I like this peculiarity very much. To continue my research I counted the number of people at the tram stop, at the bus stop and in the underground during 10 minutes. All these means are very popular and in spite of intensive passenger traffic you can hardly notice a very big crowd long. People are very polite and tolerant, stops are announced during the ride and I even learned some Czech words

Why people prefer to use public transport to personal one because 1. Driving in historical center is limited .2. There are few parking places in Prague. 3. System of high fines. There are also some transport problems:1. A few bike paths. This kind of transportation is developing.2. Many cars are parked near the houses but some streets are quite narrow.3. Submerged rails need watering when it is hot.

So, plan your rout, choose a suitable variant and don`t spend your money in vain.

To find out more about European transport system, I left Prague for Vienna. For this purpose I compared all types of transportation. Public transport in Vienn is represented by electric trains, metro lines, trams and buses. All types of transport run strictly on schedule.

Vienna's transport network is a very simple and affordable system. Single tickets are available for all types of urban transport. The discount tickets are offered to some categories of citizens. The metro is very beautiful and tourists always travel by it. Vienna has one of the oldest and longest tram networks in the world. Another unusual way to get around Vienna is by horse-drawn carriages. River transport in Vienna is represented by steamers and steamers that run along the Danube to other cities and even countries. I got to know what people find most preferable in Austrian transport………… and what they dislike………

In conclusion, you should check your bank course carefully, otherwise buy for cash. If you take care of ecology and keep fit and cycle, this city is for you.

Public transport in Paris is a rather ornate but highly developed system of ground and underground urban communication, covering almost every corner of the multi-million and multinational city. In General, public transport in Paris includes metro, trams, buses, electric trains, water and tourist-excursion transport.Bicycle transport is becoming more and more popular in Europe. Moving around the metropolis by bike is faster and more convenient, this vehicle is not afraid of traffic jams and large fines, in addition, the bike is absolutely environmentally safe. Pluses of Paris transport : everything is computerized. Minuses of Paris transport : Transport strikes are too frequent. They paralyze transportation.

To conclude, I`d like to say: study all offers, compare benefits, buy beforehand in the Internet, use a pass and you will always save your money. Don`t forget about walking round the city.

Transport in Germany is one of the most developed in Europe and has a wide variety: from low-cost airlines and bus routes to high-speed trains and first-class autobahns. Almost all transport in Germany is characterized by high standards of comfort and cleanliness. When purchasing a ticket for city transport, a tourist buys a ticket for all transport that is available in the city, without restrictions.

Pluses of German transport: travelling by a company is beneficial. Minuses of German transport: too many cars in the city. Having studied two transport systems of Paris and Dresden I found out either common or different features.

The transport system of Russia is characterized by a developed transport network, one of the most extensive in the world and includes thousand km of Railways, paved roads. air lines, river shipping routes and many sea routes. The poor state of the country's roads results in an extremely low average travel speed. Buses take the leading position in inter-city passenger transport in Russia. Tram and trolleybus services are also available in major cities. Positive side is the cheapest commuter trains. Negative sides are bad roads and old transport.

Travelling can be pleasant if you: prepare and monitor different sites beforehand, use some benefits, think about other people and ecology.

Conclusion

The main result of the project is that we have determined peculiarities of each transport system. All found information was analyzed and systematized. We got to know about peoples` transport preferences, referred to some historical facts and studied modern situation with choosing modes of transport in particular countries. We also gave some useful tips to follow in travel. So, we carried out the aim. In our research we used the following methods and ways: work with reference literature; collecting and analysis of information, choosing and systematizing of illustrative examples. The main thing we have realized is that it is important to pay attention not only to personal comfort but also to public safety and nature preservation while traveling.
