Тема: Earth Day. День Земли.

Планируемые результаты:

Личностные:

формирование мотивации изучения языка;

формирование коммуникативной компетенции;

осознание возможностей самореализации средствами иностранного языка и стремление к совершенствованию собственной речевой культуры в целом;

самостоятельное выделение и формулирование познавательной цели,

формирование умений анализировать результаты совместной деятельности в группах,

формирование умения слушать, извлекая нужную информацию.

планирование учебного сотрудничества с учителем и сверстниками,

формирование умения оформлять свои мысли в устной форме,

формирование умения высказывать свою точку зрения и отвечать на вопросы.

самоконтроль и самооценка результатов, при необходимости проведение коррекции,

формирование умения адекватно воспринимать оценки.

Оборудование: картинки, объявление, текст для чтения с заданиями, карточки для игры по переработке отходов, песня о Дне Земли, карточки для рефлексии, интерактивная доска, презентация.

 

Ход мероприятия:

1.ОРГ.МОМЕНТ. (1 мин.)

Teacher: Dear children ! I am glad to see you all today. Let’s begin our lesson.

Teacher offers pupils to choose one picture and pupils join 2 groups.

1 – “Earth” 2 – “Water”

Teacher: During the lesson, you can get 25 balls. Those who get more balls will be the winners.

2.ОПРЕДЕЛЕНИЕ ТЕМЫ, ЦЕЛИ И ЗАДАЧ (3 мин.)

Teacher: Look! Do you know the signs?

They are the symbol of the Earth day, the flag of the Earth and the Bell of piece.

Can you guess what we are going to speak about today? (Earth day)

Teacher: That’s right. You have an unusual extracurricular lesson devoted to the Earth.

Open your books, write down the date and the theme of our lesson.

Students are writing down the date and the theme, one of the students do it on the blackboard.

 

3.АКТУАЛИЗАЦИЯ ОПОРНЫХ ЗНАНИЙ УЧАЩИХСЯ (5 мин.)

Teacher: Are you ready? Let’s check what you remember.

Teacher throws a ball and ask the questions. Student who catches a ball answer the question.

1. We live on a beautiful planet. What is its name? (Its name is the Earth.)
2. What colour is our earth? (It’s blue.)
3. Why is it called «a blue planet»? (Our planet is blue because there is a lot of water.)
4. What are there on the planet? (There are continents and oceans, mountains and rivers.)
5. What creatures live on the planet? (Animals, birds, humans)

 

Teacher: So, it’s very important to save our planet. Look at the pictures and decide which of them have a positive effect on Earth, and which ones are negative. – HO1.

 

 

ANSWER: Pictures 3, 4 and 6 have a positive effect on Earth.

Teacher: What are people in picture 6 doing? (They plant trees.)

Do we plant trees in our region? When?

Imagine that you’ve seen an advertisement about the Earth day celebration and decided to take part in it. Find necessary information.

Today, on the 22nd of April, people of the world are celebrating the Earth day. On this day, they go out, they don’t use the car in order to avoid pollution, they switch off the lights because they don’t need them. They only turn on the water if they really need it and they recycle in order to help the nice planet. Today they also enjoy the day going to the camp, they go on foot and there they eat and when they finish, they take everything and recycle it. For this reason we must remember the 3R rule, reuse (to use something more), reduce (to reduce something is to use something less) and recycle. I think a better planet could be possible if everybody does this every day.

4. Earth Day sorting game “RECYCLE IT!” (10 мин.) – HO4.

Teacher: Over 160 million tons of garbage is produced every year. Ten percent is recycled, ten percent is burned, and the rest is put in landfills. A city that has solved this problem in an unusual way is, Machida, in Tokyo, Japan. They have developed totally a new approach to garbage disposal. Families must divide their garbage into categories:

1. garbage that can be easily burned (that is, combustible garbage), such as kitchen and garden trash;
2. noncombustible garbage, such as small electrical appliances, plastic tools, and plastic toys;
3. products that are poisonous or that cause pollution, such as batteries;
4. bottles and glass containers that can be recycled;
5. metal containers that can be recycled.

 

• We have 4 recycle bins and recycle cards. Please throw litter and say why you do it.

Each group divides the litter into litter bins and explain why:

Reduce Reuse and Recycle - REDUCE

Be careful how long you take a shower.

You don't need to stand there for 70 hours,

turn off the water when you're brushing your teeth,

and only use the necessary energy.

Turn off the lights when they're not in use,

think of much electricity you produce.

Take quick drinks, walk to school.

Reducing energy is really cool!

Pull out plugs when you're not using them,

Turn off the computer every now and then.

Throw away litter, pick up trash

and you'll save the Earth in a flash!

Reuse stuff when you're OUT and ABOUT
If you can use it again, don't throw it out,

Reuse bubbles, reuse bags, reuse containers and reuse rags,

Каждой группе дается вырезанная кисть руки, на каждом пальце учащиеся должны вписать, что они могут сделать, чтобы спасти Землю. Можно вписать от 1 до 5 действий.
