Work in pairs

Students look at the pictures and discuss the questions. (The teacher shows a series of images depicting the Tower of London, the Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters), and the Crown Jewels).

Answer can be: They are probably guards who guard the castle.

Speaking / Memorising facts

Studens close books and tell their partners three things they remember about Beefeaters. Go around the class monitoring students’ work. When students have finished, ask several pairs to tell the class what they remembered.
