Цели: закрепление материала по теме «Мой родной город»; активизация лексических навыков; тренировка навыков аудирования и говорения.

Оборудование: фигурки с изображением герба города Кириши (для вручения за правильный ответ), карточки с названиями достопримечательностей.

Условия игры: За каждый правильный ответ команда получает 1 балл, рассказы оцениваются по 5-балльной системе. В том случае, если команда не может ответить, право ответа передаётся другой команде.

Ход мероприятия

Good morning, students! Today we are going to speak about our town, ask and answer some questions, describe pictures and play games on this topic.

Task 1 (questions)

- We are divided in 2 teams. When you do the tasks you get a counter for the right answer. Listen to me carefully, please! I want you to answer my questions.

1. When was our town founded? (It was founded in 1965)
2. Why is the town called Kirishi? (The first information about the Kirishi settlement appeared in the chronicle in 1693. There is no exact information about the origin of the name of the town of Kirishi, but there is a legend that says that the village got its name after a settler from Veliky Novgorod, whose name was Kirsha (or Kirish).
3. Where is it situated? (It is situated in the south-east of the Leningrad region)
4. How many people live in our town? (The population is about 50 000 people)
5. What is the area of Kirishi? (It is 63,34 square kilometers)
6. How many streets are there? (There are about 37 streets)
7. What is the central street? (It is Lenin prospect)
8. How many schools are there? (There are 8 schools)
9. What large enterprises are there in Kirishi? (Power station, Kinef, Lorenc company, a glass factory)
10. what is the sports life of Kirishi? (Kirishi is the capital of water polo. Almost half of the Russian women's water polo team was made up of players from the Kirishi club "KINEFSurgutneftegaz")
