- Обобщение изученного материала по теме « Shakespeare’s Land» (урок 10) учебник для общеобразовательных организаций и школ с углубленным изучением английского языка (авторы О.В.Афанасьева, И.В.Михеева);
- Совершенствование навыков аудирования и чтения;
- Развитие навыков монологической и диалогической речи на основе услышанного и прочитанного текста.
Развивающие:
- развивать умение обобщать изучаемый материал;
- развивать умение высказать свое мнение на английском языке;
- развивать умение логически излагать свои мысли;
- расширять кругозор учащихся.
Воспитательные:
- воспитывать любовь и интерес к чтению
Познавательные: создать условия для ознакомления учащихся с биографиями известных английских писателей.
- Good morning, I’m glad to see you. How are you? Sit down, please. I’m glad you are fine. Today I would like you to work active and learn a lot. What do you expect you to do at the lesson? What do you expect our lesson to be? At the end of the lesson you will assess your work.
Look at the quotation on the board, read and translate.
«All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”
Who said it? Let’s ask our guests! Yes, you are right. What are we going to speak about? Shakespeare and his works.
Look at the next slide, please. There are some points we are going to discuss.

- How much do you know his biography? Agree or disagree with the following sentences.

3. What was Shakespeare? (a poet, an actor, a playwright) How did he become an actor? Do an exercise to know about it.

- Do you go to the theatre? How often? What theatre did you visit last and what did you see there? I invite you to the theatre, but at first we should buy tickets. (acting out the dialogue “At the booking – office”)
- Be quiet, the performance has already begun! Watch, somebody is speaking on the stage! Monologue of Hamlet “To be or not to be” (отрывок на АЯ читает ученик, с переводом)
Do you know this character? Hamlet. You are right. Have you watched a play “Hamlet”? What is it about? Let’s watch a video to know. While watching try to put parts of the tragedy in the correct order. (3 min.)
- Let’s read the parts in the order. (pupils are reading paragraph by paragraph) Now you know what this tragedy is about.
- What else did W. Sh. write? Arrange comedies and tragedies of W.Sh.. in two columns.
- You know that there are sayings from Sh.’s works well-known all over the world. I’m sure you know some of them, too. Look at the slide – and match them and English ones.

9. To remember W. Shakespeare there are not only his literary works well-known all over the world. There are also places which remind us of him. I invite you to the excursion, Julia is our guide today. If you have questions you are welcome to ask her. (5 min.)

Many years ago in Denmark there was a prince called Hamlet. One day Hamlet’s father, the King dies suddenly and Hamlet is very sad. After this Hamlet’s mother gets married very quickly. She marries her husband’s brother and he is now the king. Hamlet is very sad.
One day Hamlet’s friend tells that there is a ghost in the castle. It is the ghost of Hamlet’s father. He tells he was killed with poison by his brother. He wants Hamlet, his son, to punish his uncle for his father.
Hamlet is confused because he doesn’t know to believe the ghost or not. Hamlet acts very strangely as he doesn’t know what to do. He is mean and angry and upsets his girl-friend Aphelia.
One day a group of actors come to the castle and Hamlet makes a plan. He asks actors to change their clay. A new play will show a king poisoned like Hamlet’s father.
When the King watches the play he looks very worried and runs away. Hamlet knows the truth. The King is very worried about Hamlet now and makes a plan with Aphelia’s brother. They will fight with poisoned sword and there will be poison in Hamlet’s drink, too.
Fighting both boys cut each other with the poisoned sword. Hamlet’s mother drinks for his victory and dies from poison. Hamlet is sure he must stop the King and kills him. All the royal family are now poisoned. Hamlet tells his friend there must be a new king.
